A small wedding venue in the Essex countryside asked Meridian 88 to renovate its guest rooms, the spaces where couples get ready in the morning and families stay the night after the last dance.
Each room is designed to boutique hotel standard, and for the photographs people actually take in it. Verdure tapestry wallpaper wraps the walls in an English woodland scene, so getting-ready shots come with scenery built in, while plaster-pink ceilings hold the light warm for the camera.
Sage velvet appears in scalloped headboards, tub chairs and pelmet curtains, set against walnut joinery with fluted bases and marble tops, brass-framed deco mirrors and a petal glass chandelier. Bathrooms turn the palette up: oxblood glazed tiles, Calacatta Viola marble and brass shower fittings.
A bespoke drinks cabinet anchors each room, with woven cane panels, lit display shelving for glassware and a concealed coffee niche, giving guests a reason to linger long after checkout should have happened.
