Our Journey
Designing Spaces that Flow and Flourish
We are Alan and Sookie, the founders of Meridian 88. Our name embodies a cultural connection between West and East. “Meridian” refers to the vital energy pathways in Chinese acupuncture, while “88” symbolises our collaboration and the infinite opportunities arising from our diverse creative visions. The eight letters in “Meridian” combined with the number 88 reflect prosperity and positivity, core tenets of our studio’s ethos.
At Meridian 88, we believe that true luxury is found in the flow of a space. Founded in London with a global outlook, we are an interior design studio specialising in high-end residential and boutique hospitality environments. We go beyond merely decorating rooms; we enhance the vital energy of a space inspired by Feng Shui methodologies. We create environments that are deeply harmonious, visually exquisite, and engineered for wellness and longevity.

The Dual Perspective

Meridian 88 was born from a shared vision between two passionate designers. Operating in a deeply historic and saturated London design market as a minority East Asian, two-person studio presented its challenges. We quickly realised, however, that our diverse background was not a hurdle — it was our defining strength.
Our dual perspective allows us to seamlessly bridge authentic Eastern spatial methodologies with modern British luxury.
By bringing a deeply personal, East-meets-West approach to spatial design, we carve out a unique space in the industry. Recognised by the British Institute of Interior Designers (BIID), this authentic approach has allowed us to deliver transformative projects across the UK and Hong Kong.
As a boutique studio, we offer an intimate, highly personalised level of service, ensuring every delicate detail is executed with intention.
